Background

Wells’ Dairy is a leading producer and marketer of ice cream and fluid dairy products.  The Company was founded in 1913 by Fred H. Wells and continues to be owned, led and managed by his descendents.  The Company markets its products under its own Blue Bunny®brand name and under private label arrangements with leading retailers.  The Company’s rapid growth and significant capital projects required it to gain additional financing as well as to renegotiate covenants on its existing debt.

Wells’ Dairy is a top ten producer in the United States and ranks as the largest producer of novelty items and the 5th largest brand in supermarket sales in the U.S.

Maximizing Value

Wells’ Dairy selected KPMG Corporate Finance to advise on negotiations with its existing lenders for new and revised financing.  KPMG Corporate Finance assisted the Company in generating projections in support of determining the appropriate financing needs and structuring loan covenants.  Additionally, KPMG Corporate Finance assisted in negotiating favorable terms for new and existing debt while assuring that the available financing was sufficient to allow the Company to meet its strategic and operational needs.
