Cherie Smith Homa joined KPMG Corporate Finance in 1994.  Cherie serves as Managing Director and Head of KPMG Corporate Finance's investment banking practice.  Her corporate finance experience includes advising companies on sales and divestitures, acquisitions, capital raising, valuations and  strategic assessments. 

Cherie has worked with family-owned, venture backed, middle market and large corporations, primarily in the services, media, and technology industries, with significant experience advising shareholders on their strategic alternatives and executing sale transactions.  Cherie has also advised a number of middle market companies on executing their growth strategies to enhance shareholder value.

Cherie holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland and a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.   She is a regular speaker at conferences on M&A topics such as “Executing a Sale Transaction” and “Valuing a Company”.  Cherie is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a CFA Charterholder.
